This weekend, Beta Nu Chapter hosted its Pledging Ceremony at the temporary chapter house on Carlton Road at the top of the hill. The brothers welcomed six membership candidates to formally begin their Resolute Journey in Theta Chi Fraternity. This ceremony is the first step that every brother takes in becoming a full member of this fraternity.
The ceremony was presided over by President Cooper West (2026) and was assisted by Recruitment Chairman Kavin Muthuselvan (2028) and Marshal Devin Riehle (2028). Dr. Rich Drushel (1984) admonished the candidates on the expectations of them as candidates, and later, as brothers.
The following candidates stated their pledge to begin their journey into our brotherhood:

- Irv Mesias-Guzman (2029) – Lexington, Kentucky // Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and Chinese
- Isaac O’Brian (2029) – DeWitt, New York // Aerospace Engineering and Music
- Vinayak Sharma (2029) – Queens, New York // Biochemistry
- Andrew Shen (2029) – Pittsford, New York // Mechanical Engineering
- Oliver Thompson (2028) – Berkeley, California // Mathematics and Statistics
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the assembled brothers congratulated and welcomed the new candidates. A celebratory dinner of tacos from Cilantro Taqueria was enjoyed by all that were in attendance.
