Advisory Board

About

The Beta Nu chapter has a rich history of alumni giving back of their time and talent to the undergraduate chapter both through formal methods (housing corporation and advisors) and informal methods (attendance at alumni and chapter events and meetings). This involvement has been an important factor in the ongoing success of the chapter.

In recognition of the importance of alumni involvement in the chapter, the International Headquarters has encouraged chapters to form official Chapter Advisory Boards (CAB). A Chapter Advisory Board is a group of mentors and advisors that provide guidance to chapter officers on operational functions of the fraternity. In a lot of ways the chapter has been operating an informal board of advisors for quite some time with alumni brothers covering many of the functions of the CAB. The formation of the Beta Nu Chapter Advisory Board formalizes and expands on what we were already doing.

A group of alumni and undergraduate chapter officers met on February 13, 2016 and formally adopted the BN CAB Bylaws and elected the first slate of advisors. The chapter approved the advisors at the next Sunday at their chapter meeting.

Membership of the CAB mirrors the executive council officers with advisors assigned to mentor his undergraduate counterpart. In addition to advising individual officers, advisors attend chapter meetings, hold educational seminars and retreats, and provide guidance to the chapter as a whole.
